Xuan Wang

Xuan is the founder of City Compost Network (CNC), whose mission is to create a culture in which composting and food waste recycling is the most natural and easy thing to do. Xuan published Podcasts on community composting, from set up and management, to benefits and barriers. CCN also prototyped on-site food waste management consultation and implementation packages for high rise apartments, community gardens, community centers and offices. CCN is three times recipient of Social Enterprise Grant Program from City of Melbourne and 2023 finalist for Open Innovation Competition on inclusive Melbourne for international students with City of Melbourne.

Xuan joined Andrew Hayim De Vries as Wasteplant Consulting Co-Founder. Gardenship, as Wasteplant consulting’s flagship service, is a revenue generating, regenerative, multi-use urban space that composts food waste and grows food. Gardenship empowers community collective actions on circular economy, urban agriculture and inter-generational, cross cultural and language connections. Wasteplant Consulting is a finalist for 2024 Open Innovation Competition on Climate tech and Zero Emission Tech from City of Melbourne.

Xuan is also a founding member of LOCCAL (LOcal Community Compost ALiance) Australia, a newly established body to support and grow community composter across Australia. 

Xuan has taken her degrees in Psychology and experience in leadership development into community composting to build programs and activities that increase resilience in our soil and our community.
