Olamide Shittu

Olamide Shittu is a Circular Economy Research Fellow at Swinburne University of Technology’s Innovative Planet Research Institute. With a PhD in urban sustainability transitions, his research explores how household and business practices can be transformed to support circular cities. Through the Victorian Circular Activator project, Olamide led the development of an innovative circular economy framework that guides local governments and businesses to implement circular solutions. He also leads the Plastics and Packaging Stream of the Circular Economy Research Network Asia-Pacific (CERN-APAC), collaborating with scholars and practitioners in the region to advance research on soft plastics, governance and multi-sectoral partnerships. His experience spans academia, consulting, and policy development. Passionate about systemic change, Olamide’s work bridges theory and practice to address Australia’s recycling challenges and promote zero-waste futures.
