Activities
Bring your unwanted clothes, books and fabric to swap, your broken things to be fixed. Learn how to mend, and discover so much more DIY inspiration.

Food
Our food and drink vendors are selected based on their approach to sustainability and zero waste. Enjoy your tea, coffee and meals with reusables. Please bring your reusable water bottle, cup and containers, if you may wish to takeaway.
Upcycled fashion will take to the stage on the ReWear Runway, showcasing reclaimed materials creatively remade into wearable, fashionable garments.

You don’t need to be “zero waste” or have any experience – if you’re keen to help and can connect with like-minded people, then we’d love for you to join us.

MESSAGE FROM THE LORD MAYOR OF MELBOURNE
Melbourne takes sustainability seriously and we invite the whole community to help tackle waste. That’s why the Zero Waste Festival is so welcome every year.
The one-day festival offers fun and interactive ways to reduce waste and consumption. From a clothes swap to a repair cafe, or ditching single use plastics through to learning about bees as pollinators and beyond – discover more about sustainability through the great activities. The City of Melbourne is proud to support the Zero Waste Festival. This is community at its best, and we hope to see you at Fed Square for a terrific free family day out.
