Kara’s reversible dress is a patchwork of materials with very different former lives. The ship-print linen began as a 1970s wall hanging, the batik was once the sleeve of an oversized shirt, and the check fabric came from a curtain. Other sections have been cut from old clothes and a cushion cover – a lovely example of letting existing textiles dictate the design.
