Ayla Weckert

Ayla’s concept began years ago with a collection of plastic net produce bags and evolved through an interest in body horror. Netting layered with fabric and clear plastic suggests muscle, flesh and bone, while secondhand bedsheets and clothing form the base materials. Even a thrifted denim jacket was cropped down and its offcuts transformed into a zip-up vest, making this a design built through patience, memory and long-term material collecting.
