FabPatch are rub-on repair patches for all your garments and gear. No sewing, ironing or gluing required, so there are no barriers to repairing anywhere and anytime. Repairing rather than replacing is an important act, part of the circular economy, and helps divert textiles and clothing from landfill.

Remaki

Remaki wants to inspire you to see waste as a creative opportunity. One maker working alone cannot save the planet but an army of upcyclers has the potential to develop and share skills, reduce landfill and inspire others to do the same. By making and selling items from materials diverted from landfill, and offering accessible online and in-person instruction, Remaki exemplifies every persons’ ability to re-imbue value in materials through engaging their own ingenuity and creativity.

Matcha Yu Tea is a Melbourne-based brand bringing premium, first-harvest Japanese matcha to Australia with a focus on quality, intention, and sustainability.

Our matcha is sourced directly from trusted producers in Japan. Beyond quality, we are deeply committed to reducing waste across every part of our business.

We use thoughtfully designed packaging made from industrial compostable materials where possible and continuously work towards lower-impact solutions as better options become available. 

Wonki

Wonki Vodka Soda is a alcoholic beverage business created by four Monash University students, aiming to fight food-waste, through a delicious drink. Wonki save fruit that is otherwise going to be thrown away by big supermarkets for being a bit ‘wonki’ looking. Too small, misshaped, too many bumps. Wonki then collect this fruit through businesses such as Farmers Pick, squeezing the juice out of them and mixing it with vodka to create a delicious vodka soda! Low in sugar, gluten-free, and no added nasties, but more importantly, a drink that’s making a difference in the world.

Repurpose It

Repurpose It is a resource recovery business situated in Epping, Montrose, Hallam and Cranbourne.

Our focus is to recover and treat materials from constuction and demolition projects as well as municipal food organics garden organics and the forestry industry so that they are diverted from landfill.

Repurpose It strives to empower and educate the community on the importance and weight behind source separation and using Victoria’s waste streams effectively.

Melbourne Water

The Litter Prevention Toolkit is a suite of practical resources for councils, community groups and organisations to implement in their local area to encourage anti-littering behaviour.

The Toolkit was developed by BehaviourWorks Australia and Shannon Behaviour Change in partnership with Melbourne Water and has been informed by behaviour change research and insights from a community forum.

The Toolkit includes a suite of ready-to-use resources to help promote litter prevention behaviours, using clear, universal messaging.

We have a compost set up composting our waste evidence of broken down t shirt with a beautiful garden inside the dome growing in the soil we regenerate. Every part of our business and installation is plastic free, zero waste built to inspire. Locally made.

The South Melbourne Sustainability Group is for the community that lives in and around the South Melbourne area and would like to be involved with the local community gardens and educational events about sustainable living.

Journey for Climate Justice (JCJ)

Journeys for Climate Justice (JCJ) is a volunteer-run not-for-profit addressing the unequal impacts of climate change on vulnerable Asia-Pacific communities. We support youth-focused initiatives that nurture the next generation of environmental leaders. Our stall features vibrant shopping bags made from recycled saris – reducing waste, replacing single-use plastics, and supporting fair employment for women in Sri Lanka – with 100% of profits funding our projects.

Wonki is tackling Australia’s huge food waste issue and supporting local farmers, one delicious drop at a time. The idea was concocted as three Monash Uni students, and now, Wonki purchases misshapen but just-as-delicious seasonal produce destined for the waste heap, turning it into flavour-filled vodka sodas that are good for the planet and parties alike.
