Cip leads the AMCS’s efforts to reduce marine plastic pollution, advocating for national packaging reforms, First Nations ranger funding, and a strong, legally binding Global Plastics Treaty. She represents the AMCS on domestic campaigns and international negotiations with a strong focus on tackling plastic pollution before it’s produced. This includes advocating to reduce supermarket packaging and releasing the annual Unwrapped report – in partnership with the Boomerang Alliance – which grades major Australian supermarkets on their unnecessary use of single-use plastics and transparency.
She has taken part in negotiations for the United Nations Global Plastics Treaty to set global targets that cap plastic production, Cip also leads Ocean Cleanup campaigns, calling for federal funding for First Nations rangers who intercept ocean pollution and ghost nets along Australia’s northern coast.
