Marilyn Lambert

Marilyn Lambert is Secretary of Outer East Foodshare (OEF) and has been involved since its beginnings in 2012. Outer East Foodshare combines her two loves –‘rescued’ food for people in need, and home vegetable gardening, with the added bonus of helping the environment.

In late 2023 Knox City Council allocated a council owned site to OEF and Marilyn has led a group of 90+ volunteers to transform a former kindergarten site into a food relief distribution centre. Since then, Marilyn has overseen the day-to-day operations of the Food Hub, which now collects over 40 tonnes of food per month and distributes it to over 64 local food relief agencies.

Marilyn is also a passionate advocate for food security across Melbourne’s outer eastern suburbs, working closely with local government and food relief networks to strengthen community support and ensure more people can access the food they need
