Miriam Borcherdt is a designer and researcher at RMIT, currently undertaking a PhD that redesigns pre-consumer textile waste (unsold garments) withIndustry Partners.
She has extensive design experience founding two fashion labels kin-studio and munk, as well the co-founding the interdisciplinary design studio CODA in Perth, Australia. Previously she worked for Romeo Gigli in Milan & John Galliano in Paris.
She has taught in the areas of sustainability and ethics since 2011 and previously completed her BA at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), USA. She has also taught at Monash University and the AA Visiting School at Melbourne University.
