April Seymore leads the Port Phillip EcoCentre, an award-winning environmental not-for-profit which activates Greater Melbourne in protecting landscapes, waterways, wildlife and community wellbeing. She is a contributing author to the March 2025 report ‘Microplastic pollution in Melbourne’s waterways: existing legal solutions’. April’s expertise integrates 20 years of experience in community development, arts, sustainability, technology and education roles in Australia, Ireland, Kenya and the USA. Her recent leadership focuses on microplastic pollution, and the potential scientific, social and legal impacts of citizen science initiatives, as the EcoCentre prepares to launch Australia’s first Citizen Science Lab.
