Janelle Dollery

Janelle’s piece is built entirely from reclaimed and found materials, with nothing new introduced. Upholstery velvet becomes armour, a discarded bedsheet becomes a sculptural bodice and lace curtains become wings. The bustle uses reclaimed wedding fabric, re-authoring a former symbol of union into one of independence, while redback spider references give the look something mythic and alive.
